We had a wonderful Christingle Service in Church this week, made all the more special with family and friends joining us.

We also raised £68.34 in the collection for the Children’s Society.

When I began my journey with you in May 2022, I saw straight away how amazing our Patrington children are and I wanted above all else for the children here to feel happy and supported and be challenged to be their best. I attach a copy of the report for your perusal, however, the most important quote of all for me, was the one selected below.

Inspectors wrote:

“Pupils are happy at this nurturing village school.”

The support from parents was significant and we really appreciate you taking the time to complete questionnaires or speak to the inspectors. Many of you within our parent community have been on this long journey with us and we want to thank every single one of you for your continued support.

Our children were an absolute credit to you and the inspectors spoke extremely highly of all of their interactions with them. In fact the words the lead inspector told me in person were that  “Your pupils represented you magnificently.” 

My thanks to all of our amazing team of staff and governors who all play their part in this amazing success.

Patrington CE Primary Academy OFSTED July 24

All classes have their own promotional pack and we are asking that all staff give the parliament member a chance to discuss it and launch it in their classroom.

We want to encourage all children to take part in their own way. Either walk to school (or scoot/bike) or if they live too far- build a walk into their journey by either parking at Pat park or parking further away (possibly at the church car park). Bus/Taxi children are going to walk round the school and in with Mrs Dee/Mrs Wilson.

By way of promoting “Park at Pat Park” we are asking specific year groups to give it a try on set days:

Monday – Year 1 & Year 6

Tuesday – Year 3 & Year 4

Wednesday – Year 2 & Year 5

Thursday – EYFS

Friday – Anyone who enjoyed parking at Pat park is encouraged to keep it up.

The parliament members from those classes will meet there from 8.20am on their day to promote it and Y6 are keen to help extra on EYFS’ day.

Let’s get our steps up and walk to school!

The inspector was very thorough and spoke to many pupils, staff, parents and governors and we are really pleased to be able to share such a positive report which we feel fairly reflects our school. One such comment being that: ‘The school plays an important part in the life of the village. It promotes an inspiring Christian vision that makes building community a main priority.’.

A growing number of studies show that promoting reading can have a major impact on children and their future. Evidence suggests that reading for pleasure leads to increased attainment. 

Our children love sitting down and sharing a book so we have launched a mystery book for each class. 

Next week, a child in each class will be chosen to take home the mystery book. The book is to be shared with an adult at home and enjoyed together. When you have finished reading the book, please return it to your teacher. Keep the book’s title a mystery from anyone else in the class as it could be their turn next!

There is an exercise book in the bag too where you/ your child can leave a review.

But don’t forget the first rule of the mystery book is:

We don’t talk about the mystery book! (outside of your home!)
